Valentine's or Galentine's

As the shops fill with love themed decorations and florists and chocolatiers offer red roses and chocolate hearts, I find myself thinking about all the love there is alongside romantic love.
Romantic love is wonderful whether it is the tingly excitement of new love or the comforting warmth of longstanding love, but there are so many other kinds.
You may well be rushing to find something for your significant other; or using the opportunity to tell someone finally how you feel, but what about the deep love between a parent and a child, or the supportive love of a group of close friends or chosen family?
Tomorrow our workshop at the Maison des Femmes in Schaerbeek will have a love theme – that of self-love and taking the time for yourself. Monica and Charlotte will be holding the space for women who are in search of a better balance in life to create the space for themselves. There will be exchange, and a moment of connection to self and others. There are one or two spaces left if you feel this would enhance your Galentine’s experience!
And even if you do not attend our workshop, what will you be doing for yourself in the next couple of days? Will you take the opportunity to pause and do something you want to do just for yourself? Will you remember all the reasons you are worthy of the love of others, and of your own?
I will be bringing friends to my place on Saturday for a relaxed afternoon of crafts, laughs and food. A Galentine’s celebration to celebrate friendship and love of connection and support.
What about you?
